Betty Elma Lopes

Betty Elma Lopes, 80, of Streetman passed away Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001 in
Wortham.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Capps Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Bubba
Rutherford officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery in Kirvin.

Pallbearers will be Randy Turner, Jimmy Bennett, Elvie Clardy, Prentice Burks,
Leo Miller and Johnny Mackey. Honorary pallbearers will be J. R. Sessions, H.
D. Whitaker, Steve Johnson, Suzanne Thomas and Diana Wilson.

She was born Aug. 14, 1921 in Streetman. A lifetime resident of Streetman, she
was employed by Selective Service from 1960 to 1971 and was a dispatcher at the
Freestone County Sheriff's Office from 1979 to 1991. She was a member of First
Baptist Church of Streetman.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Rudy and Sharon Lopes of
Streetman; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
