The Teague Chronicle - Nov. 30, 1917 edition Mary Alice Lipscomb Mary Alice Lipscomb, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. W. G. Lipscomb died at the family home west of the railroad tracks last Friday morning at 3:00. Miss Lipscomb was a school girl. She underwent an operation in Dallas some two weeks before her death for the removal of her tonsils and adenoids and was presumably recovering from this. Later pneumonia and an abcess on the lungs developed. It is understood and just as preparations were being made for an operation for removal of the abcess it burst causing death. Violent coughing due to the pneumonia was said to have caused the bursting of the abcess. Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ at 3:00 Friday afternoon.
