Freestone County, Texas Obituaries The Fairfield Recorder - Feb. 24, 2011 edition EZZIE DEALIA MALONE Funeral services were held Sunday at Shiloh Baptist Church of Oakwood for Ezzie Dealia Malone, 83, of Oakwood who died Feb. 15. Mrs. Malone was born Dec. 22, 1927 as the second child of five to Wade and Theresia Washington in the Lone Star Community of Oakwood. She attended Lone Star School where she graduated as valedictorian. Mrs. Malone was a believer in Christ and was baptized at an early age at Lone Star Baptist Church. On March 3, 1951 she married Theodore Malone and moved to the Shiloh community where she began an active role in the community and became a member of Shiloh Baptist Church where she held offices as church secretary, treasurer, and Sunday school teacher. She was a Heroine of Jericho (Lone Star Lodge), treasurer of EE Wheat Community Center and Voter Poll Attendant. Mrs. Malone was also an active member of the NAACP and a census auditor. Wherever there was a need to help in any capacity in the church or community, she was there to assist or activate. Mrs. Malone received an associate’s degree from Hill Jr. College as a food dietitian and she served as supervisor during her employment at Fairview Manor Nursing Home in Fairfield where she retired in 1992 with more than 20 years of service. She also worked as a caregiver and a maid over her time in the work force. Mrs. Malone was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Dee Etta Jones and husband William, Essie Lee Willis and husband Robert, and Marie Washington. She is survived by husband Theodore of Oakwood, son Frederick Malone and wife Alice of Hasklett; daughters Marva Skinner and husband Robert of Galena Park, Beverly Davis and husband Jimmy of Channelview, and Bonita Malone of Houston; grandchildren Michael Malone and wife Connie, Chris Allen, Toni Walton and husband Todd, Brandi Brown and husband Bert, Adrian Smith and wife Samantha, Andrea Smith, and Konica Nance; great grandchildren Myles and Michaela Malone, Taylor Allen, Malik, Tray, and AJ Smith, Bailey Brown, Todd Walton II and Aryanna Smith; brother Lee Washington of Oakwood; aunt Jewel Solomon of Richmond, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were Jarvis Willis, Donald Jones, Basker Bishop, Alfred Malone, Calvin Jones, Billy Malone, Jr., and Chase Jones. Honorary pallbearers were Lee W. Washington, Eddie Jones, Sederick Malone, Ranson Solomon, Earnest Colbert, and Lincoln Dinkins. Officiating services was Pastor Errol Jones and Elder R.C. Emanuel. Making arrangements was Emanuel Funeral Home of Palestine.
