Freestone County, Texas Obituaries The Teague Chronicle August 8, 2009 edition PATTY (HARGIS) MANNING Funeral services for Mrs. Patty Manning, 79, were held on Friday, July 31, 2009, at First Baptist Church in Teague. Bro. Darrell Beggs officiated with interment following the service at Cotton Gin Cemetery. Patty was born and raised in Bastrop, Louisiana, and moved to Texas to attend Baylor University where she graduated in 1951. She was a big supporter of Baylor University Athletics, especially Lady Bears Basketball. Mrs. Manning was a History and Physical Education teacher for over twenty years. She began her teaching career in Teague, but moved to Louisiana and taught there briefly before returning to Teague I.S.D. in 1968 until her retirement in 1987. Mrs. Manning was a member of First Baptist Church, in Teague, for fifty years and was active in numerous ministries, particularly Campers on Missions. She loved to go on camping trips with her husband and friends. Mrs. Manning passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. Patty Manning was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Martha Lillian Hargis. Mrs. Manning is survived by her husband of almost fifty-three years, Dwaine Manning of Teague; her daughters Sherryl Manning of Duncan, Oklahoma and Cindy Manning of College Station; and numerous cousins.
