VERNA LEE MATTHEWS

Verna Lee Matthews, 65, of Mexia, Texas, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 
2007, at Hillcrest Medical Center in Waco, Texas.

Ms. Matthews was born on August 1, 1941, in Groesbeck, Texas. She worked in 
Food Service at Mexia State School and Mexia Independent School District. She
was a member of Salvation Lighthouse Church of God In Christ, Mexia, Texas.

Funeral services for Ms. Matthews were held on Saturday, March 24, 2007, at 
Salvation Lighthouse Church of God In Christ in Mexia.

Superintendent L.J. Manning, Pastor and Minister Don Manning officiated with
interment at Shady Grove Cemetery in the Doyle Community.

Ms. Matthews is survived by her sons Harold Matthews of Waco, Mark Matthews 
and wife Jo Ann of Mexia, and Randy Matthews and wife Christi of Mexia, her
daughters Elaine Morgan and husband Berome of Austin and Audrey Morgan of 
Mexia. Her sisters Johnny Faye Washington and husband Jerry of Mexia, Pinkie 
Carroll of Dallas, Martha Jo Harding of Corsicana, Verta Ruth Eddington of
Chandler and Edna Eddington of Oakland California, her brothers Robert 
Eddington of Groesbeck and Ban J. Eddington of Oakland, California, her aunts 
Mabell Davis of Mexia and Lillian Ferrell of Calvert, seven grandchildren, 
special friend Gwendolyn Echols of Austin, a number of nieces, nephews and 
other relatives and friends also survive Ms. Matthews.

Moore's Angelic Funeral Home of Teague was in charge of the arrangements.
