Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Central Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne McKay and the Rev. D. Dean Harris officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park by Rix Funeral Directors. Mrs. McCartney was born in Stewards Mill. For 20 years, she was a child-care provider in her home. She was a member of Central Baptist Church for 68 years. She married Ezra Cullen McCartney in 1929 at Fairfield. He died in 1968. She also was preceded in death by two daughters, Jacqueline McCartney and Dorthey Higgins. Survivors include two daughters, Bobbie Garner of Amarillo and Bettie LaNett Woodruff of Lubbock; four sisters, Vera Grace Bowen of Bishop, Josephine Cawlfield and Myrtle Lee Brown, both of San Antonio, and Kathryn Burton of Mesquite; a brother, Cecil Brown of College Station; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be to Central Baptist Church, 1809 Ave. M, Lubbock, TX 79401.
