Fairfield Recorder - Friday, February 5, 1926 EDWARD MCCAULEY DIES AT KIRVEN On the morning of Jan. 19, the sun rose in splendor. The rainbow of gladness spanned the heavens and the air seemed never so pure, nor the skies so clear, for Edward seemed to better but about one o'clock the death angel, which had hovered over the bed all the morning, swooped down and claimed for its victim, Edward MCCAULEY. This boy, whose life was bound up with that of his family and his Christian life and manliness were essential to the formation of unity with his comrades and Christianity, had passed forever from the walks of men. Edward was a king and played forward on the basketball team. As he played ball so did he live. He always worked in that never tiring spirit and he met the world with a smile. In every under taking in life he played forward and was fast ringing the goal that lead to success and near the end of the game of life he assured his father that he could ring that goal and rest securely in the arms of his savor. Edward was 17 years of age and the oldest child of Bro. and Mrs. D. R. MCCAULEY. He was secretary of the Methodist Sunday School of which church his father was pastor. His body was laid to rest in the cemetery at Brandon, Texas where they formerly lived with Bro. SOREY of Palton officiating. A Friend
