Mexia Daily News - Sep. 9, 2004 edition Darlene (Bounds) McClinton Darlene Bounds McClinton was born to Charles and Helen Bounds in Wortham on Nov. 29, 1941, and left this earth to be with her Savior on Sept. 3, 2004. Darlene married Connie McClinton on June 23, 1961, and lived and raised their family in Coolidge. Darlene had several "jobs" throughout her life, but her primary goal was to lovingly lead her family and others in the life of Christ. She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church of Elk City, Oklahoma. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; her youngest son, Dean McClinton; by a granddaughter, Kristie Mitchell, and by a sister, Betty Fox. Darlene is survived by Connie McClinton, husband and lifelong partner; a daughter and son-in-law, Annette and Roy Richards of Coolidge; a son and daughter-in-law, Norris and Terri McClinton of Canute, Oklahoma; a daughter-in-law, Katrina Bounds of Mexia; a brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Geneva Bounds of Killeen., Also surviving are grandchildren - Andrew, Dustin, Ashley, Meghan, Cody, Audrey, Tiffany, Jacob, Jeremiah, John and Danielle; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services for Mrs. McClinton were conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock in First Baptist Church of Coolidge. Officiating were the Reverends Kris Ramber and Larry Holden. Burial was in Coolidge Cemetery, under direction of Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Ben Hancock, Jimmy Hancock, Kyle Hold, Don Shipley, Jr., Michael Brooks, Donald Erwin, Paul Logan and Rockey Lemley.
