(Submitted by Mike Pruitt on 16 May 2006) Mexia Daily News Obituary Notice dated July 19, 1956: [Death date: Jul 19, 1956] Cecil McDonald Cecil McDonald, 56, a resident of Limestone County for the past 37 years, died early today at his home in the Shiloh community. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 at the Shiloh Baptist Chrch with the Rev. John Douglas, pastor of the Northside Baptist Church, and the Rev. W.R. Dillard, officaiting. Burial will be in the Shiloh cemetery with the Riddle Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be C.E. Vickers, Bill Speights, J.R. Van Winkle, W.D. Hancock, J.B. East, and W.E. Morgan. Mr. McDonald was born in Freestone county on Oct. 7, 1899. He was a farmer and a member of the Baptist church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Susie McDonald; two sons, Cecil McDonald Jr. and Billie McDonald, Mexia; two daughters, Mrs. Melvin Campbell, Mexia, and Mrs. Leonard Lock, Houston, and six grandchildren. Also surviving are two half-brothers, Bob Dunn, Currie and Arthur Dunn, Lubbock.
