McGuyer, 89, of Centerville are set for 10 a.m. Friday at Walters Funeral Home in Centerville. The Rev. Richard Ray will officiate. Burial will be in North Creek Cemetery east of Centerville. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. at Walters Funeral Home in Centerville with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Mr. McGuyer died Tuesday. He was born in Freestone County. He worked as a logger and was a resident of Leon County for more than 60 years. He was a member of North Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane (Tubb) McGuyer; and a son, James N. “Mickey” McGuyer. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Jodie Rouse of Channelview; a brother and sister-in-law, W.H. and Rose McGuyer of Crockett; two sisters, Sue McAdams and Louise Raines, both of Centerville; a sister-in-law, Nell Wood of Centerville; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
