Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Houston County Courier February 24, 2008 W.H. "Mack" MCGUYER Mr. W. H. "Mack" McGuyer, age 89 of Crockett, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2008 at his residence. Mr. McGuyer was born March 27, 1918 in Fairfield and had resided in Crockett since 1987 formerly living in Centerville. Mr. McGuyer was veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Army. Mr. McGuyer was retired from the City of Houston as Road and Bridge Supervisor. He was a member of the American Legion and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife Rose McGuyer, of Crockett; daughter Rose Marie West and husband Bill, of Conroe; sons Vernon Ray McGuyer and wife Michelle, of Corsicana, Tony Liotta and wife Margaret, of Grapeland, Billy Fred McGuyer, of Corsicana; sister Sue McAdams, of Centerville; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. Preceded in death by his parents C.F. and Jewell McGuyer; brother J.C. McGuyer and wife Jane; sister Louise Rains and husband Ferrell; son Reed Vincent Liotta; grandson Reed Vincent Liotta, Jr.; and brother-in-law Roger McAdams. Funeral Services for Mr. W. H. “Mack” McGuyer were held Monday, February 18, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Hutto officiating.
