McIlveen, 70, of Copperas Cove who died Thursday, August 17 at Darnell Army Hospital in Fort Hood. Mr. McIlveen was born May 21, 1935 in Fairfield. He was a retired major in the U.S. army, and held a bachelor of science degree in kinesiology from Prairie View A&M University. Services were conducted at 10 a.m. at Moore’s Angelic Chapel, with Clifford E. McIlveen officiating. Burial was at Paradise North Cemetery in Houston. Mr. McIlveen is survived by a daughter, Shirley (Lennis) Nichols of Palestine; sisters Marcia McIlveen Booker of Dallas, Ruth McIlveen Sykes of Houston; grandchildren Lennis Mancha Nichols, Jr. and wife Linda of San Diego, Terris Everett Nichols and Ivory Brianne Nichols; Great-grandchildren Lavon Ray Nichols of San Diego, Minnie Ola Jones of Fort Worth, Loree Houston and Iley Pearl Warner, both of Houston; a nephew, Gerald Booker and wife Sandra; and nieces LaJourka, Jennifer and Dorothy Sykes and Rosario and Toni McIlveen.
