Mike and Cynthia McLelland
  Mike and Cynthia McLelland died on March 30, 2013. He was born August 23, 1949. 
She was born October 18, 1947. Mike grew up in Wortham, TX. He obtained a B.A. 
in history from the University of Texas at Austin, a Master's Degree in 
psychology from Ball State University, and a Jurisprudence of Law from Texas 
Wesleyan School of Law. He served in the Army for 23 years, retiring as a 
decorated Major. Mike was a clinical psychologist for many years before pursuing 
a legal career. He had a private practice in Corpus Christi and Dallas, TX. Mike 
worked as a public defender for Dallas County before being elected as the 
District Attorney of Kaufman County in 2010.
  Cynthia grew up in Okmulgee, OK and Highland Park, TX. She obtained a B.S. in 
psychology from Austin College, a Master's Degree in psychology from Texas 
Women's University, and an Associate's and RN in nursing from Del Mar College. 
Cynthia worked as a clinical psychologist for many years before becoming a nurse. 
She worked at the Terrell State Hospital.
  These two were a mismatched pair that fit perfectly. They were a true love 
story and will be greatly missed by their family, friends, and community.
  Mike is survived by his mother Wyvonne McLelland; daughter Krista Ball, 
grandsons Ty and Trent; son JR McLelland and Marlyn Bland, grandsons James and 
Coby; son Josh and wife Jeana McLelland, grandchildren Brody and Laura; sister 
Marsha and husband Rick Calame.
  Cynthia is survived by her mother Shirley Woodward; son Nathan and wife Julie 
Foreman; daughter Christina Foreman; sister Nancy and husband Gary John; brother 
Kenneth and wife Laurel Woodward; brother Stephen and wife Georgina Woodward; 
sister Diane and husband John Hayden.
  A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 4, 1:00 p.m. at the First 
Baptist Church in Sunnyvale, 3018 North Beltline Road, Mesquite, TX 75182.  The 
family will receive friends for visitation Thursday 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the 
First Baptist Church of Wortham.  A family funeral will be held Friday, April 5, 
10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Wortham, TX.  Services and arrangements 
have been entrusted to Sparkman-Richardson Funeral Directors in Richardson, TX.

Service for Kaufman District Attorney and Wife to be Held in Hometown of Wortham, 
Tx

 Kaufman District Attorney Mike McClelland, who was tragically murdered along 
with his wife, Cynthia on March 21, 2013 is from Wortham, Texas.

  Services for the couple will be as follows:
  --Public Service at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2013 in Sunnyvale Baptist 
Church, Mesquite, Texas.
  --Family visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 
4, 2013 at First Baptist Church, Wortham, Texas.
  --A service for family and friends will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, 
April 5, 2013 at First Baptist Church, Wortham, Texas.
  Sparkman-Richardson Funeral Home in Richardson, Texas is conducting funeral 
arrangements.
