W.R. McLEOD AT HOME DEC. 7 Willis Ruth McLeod, 67, veterinarian and long-time resident of Fairfield, died at his home early Thursday morning, December 7. Although he had not been well for sometime, his death was unexpected. Funeral services were held from Calvary Baptist Church Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock with the Rev. Jack McDaniel, pastor, the Rev. George Conn and the Rev. S. Downey Mills, officiating. Interment followed at the Fairfield Cemetery. Paulbearers were L. J. Davis, Rankin Gilpin, John L. Bonner, O.K. Ray, Steward Whitaker and James Anderson. Dr. McLeod was born in Robertson County, October 7, 1894, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sam McLeod. He was married to Miss Minnie Eula Scott of Fairfield March 25, 1921. They resided in Trent before moving to Fairfield 21 years ago. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Trent. Survivors include his wife of Fairfield, five sons, Donald and Huey McLeod of Fairfield, George Gregory McLeod of Fort Brag, S. C., S. D. McLeod of Sherman Oaks, Calif., Jimmy W. McLeod of San Antonio; two daughters, Mrs. Homer Lambert and Mrs. Joe Russell of Dallas, seven grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Capps Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
