[This is Louisa Jane Baty McSwane, 25 Jul 1837 - 24 Aug 1884 wife of Peter
 Renfro McSwane.]

  At her home in Freestone County Texas, Mrs. L. J. McSwane, wife of P. R.
McSwane, wife of P. R. McSwane, on the  24th day of Aug. last, quietly passed
away.  Mrs. McSwane was born in Hardin Co., Tennessee July 5, 1839.  Her 
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Beaty, removed with her to Texas in 1855.  She
was married to Capt. McSwane, in 1857.  She joined the Cumberland Presbyterian
Church at the Box Church in 1875.  The writer, who received the deceased into
the church, and was her pastor for several years, bears willing testimony, to
the consistency and fidelity of her christian life.  She died of that lingering
disease consumption, and hence had ample time for reflection.  She was 
perfectly resigned, said that she was going home, to be with Jesus and her 
chldren, who had gone before.  She requested her family and friends met her in
heaven.  
  Thus our friends one by one pass away.  But are they dead?  No;  
"There is no death, an Angel form
  Walks o'er the earth, with silent tread,
  He bears our best loved things away,
  And then we call them dead."
