Freestone County, Texas Obituaries William T. Means Services for William T. Means, 84, of Teague, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Union Primitive Baptist Church with the Rev. Vernon Busby officiating. Burial will be in Asia Cemetery in Teague under the direction of Emanuel Funeral Home, Teague. Mr. Means died Monday in Mexia. He was born Oct. 22, 1917 in Limestone County to Leroy and Nancy Demus Means. Mr. Means attended school at Gison Chapel in Limestone County. He was an ordained deacon and member of Union Primitive Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was honorably discharged. Mr. Means was employed at Teague Brick & Tile. He was a farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Lillie J. Jackson Means, in 1998; brothers, Jessie, Joshua, Namon, L.M. and Earl; sister, Margie; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Means is survived by daughters, Claudine L. Gaines and Odessa Mims, both of Teague; brother, George Means of Cleveland, Ohio; sister, Josie Burrell of Teague; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren. A wake will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
