Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Submitted by Billie Bournias [Died 6/1/1939] Utility Man's Wife Succumbs Mrs. Annie Hammett Miller, wife of C. B. Miller of the Lone Star Gas Company tax department, will be buried Saturday at Oakwood Cemetery in Corsicana. Mrs. Miller died Thursday night at her home, 5746 Morningside, one day after she was stricken with a heart attack., The Rev. Harlin J. Roper, pastor of Scofield Memorial Church, will conduct her funeral at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Weiland Funeral Church. The body will be taken overland to Corsicana. Mrs. Miller was past worthy grand matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Mount Auburn chapter, a member of the Fitzburgh Lee Camp of the Spanish- American War Veterans auxiliary and a member of the Scofield Church. She grew up in Corsicana and attended high school there. Survivors are her husband; two daughters, Miss Delphine Miller of Wichita, Kans., and Miss Nancy Miller, of Dallas; a brother, W. A. Hammett of Corsicana, and three sisters, Mrs. J. D. Johnson of Dallas and Miss Sadie Hammett and Mrs. John Scarbourgh of Corsicana. Pallbearers at her funeral will be W. L. Holmes, Sr.; Green Reynolds, Jr.; Charles E. Still; J. D. Sunkel, D. D. Beckler and Glynn O. Green.
