Mooney, Sr., of Groesbeck, Texas, will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2006, 11:00 a.m., at Lone Star Missionary Baptist Church in Groesbeck, Texas. Visitation will be on Friday, December 1, 2006, from 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Moore's Angelic Funeral Home in Teague. The family will be present from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Rev. Nathaniel Bedford, Pastor of Lone Star Missionary Baptist Church and Rev. Lanny Henry, Pastor of Canaan Missionary Baptist Church, will conduct the funeral services. Interment will be at Lone Star Cemetery in Groesbeck, Texas. Mr. Mooney was born on May 20, 1935, and passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2006, at Parkview Regional Hospital in Mexia, Texas. Mr. Mooney was a member of Lone Star Missionary Baptist Church in Groesbeck, Texas. He is survived by his wife Patricia Jefferson Mooney of Groesbeck, Texas, his sons John L. Mooney, Jr. of Odessa, Texas, Stephen Cooper of Mexia, Texas, Jeffrey Jefferson of Mexia, Texas, Dwayne Cornish and wife Cynthia of Houston, Texas, his daughters Teresa Mooney of Odessa, Texas and Regina King and husband Floyd of Mexia, Texas. His sisters Tina Johnson and husband Matthew of Dallas, Texas, Erma Allen of Houston, Texas, Ruby Bryant of Fairfield, California and Vivian Dugar and husband Richard of Marlin, Texas, his grandchildren Unique Jefferson, Floyd King, III and Jahyden Mooney, a very dear friend, Angela Miller of Marlin, Texas, special friend Charlie Jones of Groesbeck, Texas, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends also survive Mr. Mooney. Casket bearers will be Billy Mack Davis, Jasper Davis, Steven Perkins, John Pendleton, Milton Wiley and James Calhoun. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, December 1, 2006, from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. in Moore’s Angelic Funeral Home of Teague. The family will be present from 6 until 7 p.m. Funeral services for Mr. Mooney will be Saturday morning, December 2, 2006, at 11 o’clock in Lone Star Missionary Baptist Church-Groesbeck.
