Opal (Weldon) Sparks Moore

Opal Sparks Moore, 93, formerly of Fairfield, died Monday, March 21, 2016 in 
Texas City.  Services were held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Capps 
Memorial Chapel with Mr. Jason Schick, pastor of Fairfield Church of Christ 
officiating.  Interment followed at Antioch Cemetery. 

Mrs. Moore was born June 4, 1922 in Linden, Texas to parents Markes Weldon and 
Bertie Hather Lacy.  She came to Fairfield in 1971 from Texas City returning 
there in 2001.  She was a member of the Fairfield Church of Christ and was an 
avid deer hunter and fisherman.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in 
death by three husbands, Claude Sparks, L. B. Jones and Samuel Brown Moore; a 
grandson, Lacy Crow, Jr.; two brothers, Weldon and Albert Lacy. 

Left to cherish her memory is her five children, Lacy Crow and wife Barbara of 
Norco, LA; Keith Crow and wife Ivonne of Texas City, TX; Bert Crow, Sr. of Texas 
City, TX; Rodney Crow of Clear Lake, TX; Hope Crow Taylor of Bacliff, TX; a 
sister, Florence Welch of Texas City, TX; twelve grandchildren, 19 great-
grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
