  We copy the following from Paduch, (Ky.,) Herald, announcing the death of a 
late honored and respected citizen of Freestone county in this State.
  Our community has suffered a great loss in the death of that Christian gentlemen, 
Dr. Wm. B. Moores. Dr. Moores has been a resident of our city but a short time, 
yet long enough to endear him to the hearts of all who were so fortunate as to 
make his acquaintance.
  As principal of the Female Academy this place, he occupied a position of 
usefulness and honor, and we but speak the universal sentiment in stating that 
he fully met aud fulfilled the requirements of that station.
  He was an honest man, and a Christian, the highest eulogy which human worth 
can merit.
