Linda Kay Morris

Funeral services were held last week for Linda Kay Morris, 66, of Teague who died 
Saturday, July 5, in her residence.

Mrs. Morris was born in Jacksonville on Jan. 29, 1942. She was a teacher for 17 years in 
Chapel Hill, Terrell and Teague, before retiring this past May.

Mrs. Morris was a member of Eighth Avenue Baptist Church where she served as a 
Sunday school teacher and was known as a loving wife and mother.

Mrs. Morris is survived by her children, Phillip Clark Morris, Jr. and wife Jennifer of 
Austin, Kelley Morris Taptich and husband Robert of Freehold, New Jersey, and Jason 
Leroy Morris of Arlington; grandchildren Kayle Dawn Morris, Cody Alan Morris, Cory 
Shawn Morris, and Jarred Ryan Trinkle, all of San Antonio, and Kaitlyn Elizabeth 
Taptich and Colin Michael Taptich, both of Freehold, New Jersey; sister Shirley Burleson 
of Fairfield; sisters-in-law Linda Thornton and husband Merle and Suzanne Thomas, all 
of Teague; brothers-in-law Dan Morris and Jerry Morris, both of Teague and Mike 
Morris of Fairfield.

She was preceded in death by her husband Phillip Clark Morris, Sr.

Arrangements were made by Bowers Funeral Home of Teague.
