Freestone County, Texas Obits Houston Chronicle newspaper - Thursday 11/30/2000 edition DOYLE DOYLE P "D.P." MORTON, 88, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2000. Born July 13, 1912 in Palo Pinto County, TX, he served with the US Army during WWII. Resident of Sugar Land, TX for over 50 years, he built and managed the Palms Theatre from 1948 to 1978. More recently he was employed by Nalco Chemical from 1978 to 1990. Doyle was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Winnie Morton. He is survived by children, Bonnie Sue Hanson & husband Jim of Vancouver, WA., Penny Kay Springer & husband, Jack of Sugar Land, TX., grandchildren, Tamara & husband Stewart of Huntsville, TX, Clayton and Kirsten Hanson of Vancouver, WA and Wendi Jill Adler of Dallas, TX; great- grandchildren include Faye, Brandi and Holly Brown; sisters-in-law, Edna McCombs of San Angelo, TX and Letha Turner of Fairfield, TX; sister, Lillian McGee of Merkel, TX. A visitation will take place at Earthman SW Chapel, Stafford, on Thursday, Nov. 30th from 6 pm to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held there on Friday, Dec. 1st at 2:00 pm. Interment will be at Fairfield Cemetery with a Graveside Service at 2:00 pm, Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000. The family would like to express sincere gratitude for the constant loving care provided by Willie Mae Ardoin & family for the past 16 months.
