Freestone County, Texas Obituaries [This is Ida Leola Herran Mullen b 9 Mar 1880 d 2 Apr 1966] The Fairfield Recorder April 7, 1966 edition Antioch Services for Mrs. Mullen Held On Sunday Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Leola Mullen, 86, were held Sunday at Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack McDaniel and Rev. Willis Young officating. Special music in song was furnished by two of her granddaughters, Donna Thompson and Eloise Barr, and also Rev. Mike Reed. Burial was in Antioch Cemetery beside her husband, W. S. Mullen, who preceded her in death in 1930. Mrs. Mullen, who had been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. Gene Curtis in Dallas, died Friday in Irving Community Hospital after suffering a heart attack a few days earlier. She is survived by four sons, Clinton Mullen and Martin Mullen, both of Fairfield, Willie Mullen of Stafford, Arizona, and Van Buren Mullen of Electra; seven daughters, Iva Russell of Borger, Euzella Hayes and Ida Leolda Duren, both of Electra. Vera Miller of Synder, Oma Lawrence of Irving, Laverne Finch and Nadene Curtis, both of Dallas; 41 grandchildren; 85 great-grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Ruel Wilson, Dennis Kirgan, Roy DeFrance, Condia Robertson, Van Day and John Shields. Capps Funeral Hone was in charge of arrangements.
