Freestone County, Texas Obituaries The Fairfield Recorder May 13, 2010 edition Oscar Randy Mullenax Funeral services for Randy Mullenax, age 60, of Kirvin, were held Sunday, May 9, at First Baptist Church in Buffalo. Mr. Mullenax died at his home Friday, May 7. Rev. Jay Fraze, pastor of the Wortham and Kirvin Methodist Churches, officiated. Burial followed at Woodland Cemetery near Kirvin. Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Mullenax was born February 1, 1950 in Palestine to Vallie and Mollie (Henson) Mullenax. He was a lifelong resident of Leon and Freestone counties, and graduated from Buffalo high school in 1968. Prior to going into business on his own, he was employed by Lipsey, Inc. for some 16 years. Mr. Mullenax owned his own heavy equipment contracting business, Mull Inc., servicing many government contracts. At the time of his death, he was constructing the largest fish hatchery in the country at Jasper for Texas Parks And Wildlife. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving family includes his wife, Nelda Mullenax of Kirvin; sons, Blaine Mullenax of Jasper, Joseph Mullenax of College Station and Wade Williams of Dallas; daughters, Morgen Frazier and husband, Collin, of Cyprus and Sophie Garcia and husband, Chris, of League City; Brothers, Rondal Mullenax and wife, Linda, of Buffalo and Gondal Mullenax and wife, Sandra, of Marquez; a sister, Cindy Port and husband, Mike, of Buffalo; eight grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Joe Latham, Toby Lewis, Tommy Harrison, Billy Patterson, Thomas Lucas, Nelson Villaal, Dwight Latham and Jeff Blann.
