Freestone County, Texas Obits Mexia Daily News October 13, 2006 Madeline (Goolsby) Ward Mullins Madeline, 82, passed away on October 10, 2006, at Presbyterian Village North in Dallas. She was born July 4, 1924, in Kirvin, Freestone County, TX. She was the daughter of James Claude Goolsby and Jewel McClellan Goolsby . Her family moved to Wortham where she attended Wortham Public Schools and graduated as valedictorian in 1941. She attended Mary Hardin-Baylor College in Belton and later worked in banking and health care services in Fairfield, Tyler, Mexia, Corsicana, Austin and Waco. In 1945, she married Dr. Leamon Monroe Ward of Coolidge, TX who practiced medicine in McKinney and Midland until his death in 1946. Following his death she moved to Wortham with her infant daughter, Linda Lea Ward. In 1950 she married Mack W. Mullins of Sulphur Springs, TX and they became parents of a son, Mack W.Mullins, Jr.. Madeline was a dedicated, caring homemaker and loving mother and wife. Since 1997, Madeline dealt with her devastating loss of vision courageously and inspired family and friends with her optimism. She is survived by her husband, Mack W. Mullins, Sr. of Dallas; daughter, Linda Ward Ambrose of Dallas, TX; son, Mack W. Mullins, Jr.; sister, Doris E. Garrett of Kingwood, TX; sister-in-law, Ethel Goolsby of Wortham, TX and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Friday, October 13, 2006, at 11 a.m., at Sparkman/Hillcrest Memorial Park in Dallas. The family would like to send their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Brian S.
