Mrs. Myrtis New, 96, longtime Arlington resident, passed away Friday May 25, 
2007.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Monday, May 28, 2007, at the Blair-Stubbs 
Funeral Home Chapel in Mexia with the Reverend Ken Lane officiating. Burial 
will follow in the Mexia cemetery.

Mrs. New was born in Freestone County to Willis Dixon Beene and Bettie Martin
Beene.

She was a member of the Presbyterian church and enjoyed serving as a volunteer
both at church and in the community.

On Sept. 24, 1929, she married Marvin Vester New of Mexia, TX, who preceded 
her in death in 1993.

She is survived by her daughter, Madeleine Kay Fell, granddaughter, Laura 
Griffin and husband Wess, grandson, Denton Fell and wife Lisa and great 
granddaughter Abby Lynn. Also surviving is her sister, Mozelle Carlisle of 
Houston.

Funeral services for Mrs. Myrtis New, 96, of Arlington, Texas, were held on 
Monday, May 28, 2007, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home Chapel in Mexia, Texas. 
Rev. Ken Lane officiated with interment following at Mexia Cemetery.

Mrs. New passed away on May 25, 2007. She was a member of the Presbyterian 
Church and enjoyed serving as a volunteer both at the church and in the 
community. She was married to Marvin Vester New, of Mexia, on September 25, 
1929. He preceded her in death in 1933. She was a longtime resident of 
Arlington, most recently a resident of Merrill Gardens and Alterra Clare
Bridge Cottage in Richland Hills. She was born in Freestone County, Texas to 
Willis Dixon Beene and Bettie Martin Beene.

Mrs. New is survived by her daughter Madeleine Kay Fell, her granddaughter 
Laura Griffin and husband Wess, her grandson Denton Fell and wife Lisa, her 
great granddaughter Abby Lynn and her sister Mozelle Carlisle of Houston.

Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home of Mexia was in charge of the arrangements.
