He is a longtime member of Tomball First Baptist Church, Veteran of The U.S. Navy, serving during World War II, and a member of The Masonic Lodge since. Aug. 14, 1954. Preceded in death by his wife Eddie Mae Nicol in 1988. Survived by his children, Everett W. Nicol, Jr. and wife Ola Mae, Paula Stevens & husband Robert, Bootsie Hinze; sister, Daisy English; grandchildren, Greg Nicol & wife Rachel, Candy Bassett & husband Bobby, Ronny Rucker, Jr., Stephanie St. John & husband Tad. Dr. Nicol Payne & husband Dr. Justin Payne, Dr. Bobby Stevens & wife Britney, and Randy Rucker; great grandchildren, Travis Bassett, Ryan Bassett, and Lauren St. John. The grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 10 A.M.-8 P.M. Tue., with family to receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004, at Klein Funeral Chapel, Tomball, with Rev. Dick Lintelmann of The First Baptist Church of Tomball officiating. Graveside services will follow at 2 P.M. Wednesday, at Salem Cemetery, Freestone, Texas.
