CENTERVILLE — Services for Lela M. Nichols, 79, of Centerville, Texas, are set
for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Walters Funeral Home Chapel in Centerville.

The Rev. Charles White of First United Methodist Church of Centerville will
officiate. Burial will be in Centerville Cemetery.

Mrs. Nichols died Thursday in Fairfield.

She was born in Flo, Texas, and lived in Centerville most of her life. She was
Deputy Clerk and County Clerk in Leon County.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Nichols.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Cathy Nichols of
Centerville and Bobby and Mary Nichols of Forney, Texas; a daughter and
son-in-law, Ronnie and Carol Lacey of Fairfield, Texas; two sisters, Merle
Wilson of Centerville and Jimmie Chandler of Waco; eight grandchildren; and
five great-grandchildren.
