Freestone County, Texas Obits Corsicana Daily Sun newspaper - March 26, 2004 edition Edna Grace (Hood) Nichols Edna Grace (Hood) Nichols, 94, of Friendswood died at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 25, 2004. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Corley Funeral Chapel with the Rev. B.F. Risinger Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Cade Cemetery. Mrs. Nichols was born Nov. 29, 1909, in Axtell, near Waco. She was a resident of Corsicana for 35 years and a member of First Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school for a number of years. She was an active member of both the Joyful Servants Sunday School Class and WMU. Mrs. Nichols was a 50-year member of Eastern Star, Chapter 118 in Corsicana. During her lifetime, she owned and operated beauty shops in Dallas and Streetman. At the time of her death, Mrs. Nichols was living with her niece, Patty Copeland, and was a member of First Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday School Class, where she assisted Huis Egge in organizing the WMU and loved witnessing for the Lord and serving as a prayer warrior. Leister of Mineola, Carolyn Ann and Jack Wahlstrom of Friendswood, Cathy Sue Copeland of Austin, David and Corie Posey of Costa Mesa, Calif., Marc Lynn Cox of Corsicana and Reed Posey of Austin.
