Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Etta Fulton Nix Funeral services for Mrs. Etta Fulton Nix, 93, will be held on Monday, April 1, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Bro. Scott Matthews will officiate. Interment will follow the services at Post Oak Cemetery near Donie. Visitation will be held on Sunday, with the family present from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Nix passed away on Friday, March 29, 2013, at the Teague Nursing Home. She was born in Donie and grew up in Forsan, TX and Donie as her family moved between the two communities. She graduated from Forsan High School. Mrs. Nix worked as a beautician in Teague for several years then moved to Dallas and worked as a secretary for TEMPCO until her retirement. She returned to Donie after retiring and lived there several years before moving to Teague where she remained. Mrs. Nix enjoyed artworks and painting in her spare time and was known for being a good cook in her earlier years. Mrs. Nix was a member of First Baptist Church in Teague for many years. She is survived by five nieces and six nephews, Joe Max Roberts of Nevada, TX, Selma Sedgwick of Lubbock, Jim Bob Roberts of Eldorado, Arkansas, Malcolm Roberts of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Sharon Thomas of Marlin, Larry Roberts of Pearl River, Louisiana, Peggy Riley of Henderson, Kenneth Fulton of Overton, Gerald Fulton, Margaret Lindsey, and Beth Cooper all of Teague; numerous great- nieces and great-nephews, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Nix was preceded in death by three husbands, Carl Devine, Earle Long, and Don Nix; one sister, Lillian Roberts; and two brothers, Arthur Fulton and Paul Fulton.
