FORT WORTH -- Edna "Mookie" Mergerson Opawoye, 55, a caretaker for Amicus, 
died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2001, at a local hospital. 

Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday in the Pauline Minor Memorial Chapel of Gregory W. 
Spencer Funeral Directors. Pastor L.G. Austin officiating. Burial: Skyvue 
Memorial Gardens. Wake: Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Gregory W. Spencer Funeral
Directors. 

Edna was born July 1, 1945, in Streetman. 

Survivors: Children, Ricky Sample, Jeffrey Sample, Arthur Sample and Carla 
Sample; brothers, Johnson Mergerson (Jeannie), Billy Charles Mergerson (Jane),
A. V. Mergerson (Jean), Eddie Mergerson and George Brown Jr.; sisters, Betty
Ann Jordan (Carl), Mattie Kirvin Williams (Grady,Jr.); six grandchildren;
nephews, nieces; and a host of relatives and friends; and special friend, 
Iola Young.
