Freestone County, Texas Obits Mexia Daily News - October 25, 2006 edition Margie Owens TEAGUE - funeral services for Mrs. Margie Owens, 83, of Teague, will be held this afternoon, Wednesday-October 25, 2006, at 2 o’clock in First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Jeff Powers will officiate. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Bowers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Owens was born June 29, 1923, in Mexia and passed away October 24, 2006, at the Teague Nursing Home. She was a Homemaker and a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church. She was involved in her Sunday School Class, was a volunteer at Teague General Hospital, and a regular visitor at the Teague Nursing Home before becoming a resident herself. She dedicated her life to serving her family and her church. She is survived by her son, Kenneth Owens of Teague; a daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Leslie Hassell of Burnet; a granddaughter, Wendy Gallegos and husband Michael of Fairfield; two grandsons, Eric Hassell of Arlington and Adam Hassell of Marble Falls; a great-granddaughter, Madelyn Gallegos and great-grandson, Carson Gallegos of Fairfield; a special niece, Celindia Brown of Teague; numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins.
