Freestone County, Texas Obituaries TEAGUE CHRONICLE - PAGE FOUR April 10, 1986 Funeral Services Held April 7 For Fred Derwood Owens, 64 Funeral services were held April 7, at 2 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church for Fred Derwood Owens, 64, of Teague. Rev. James Dammon assisted by Rev. Huey Clements, officiated, the service. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery. Mr. Owens was born January 24, 1922, in Teague. He had lived here all of his life. He passed away April 5, in Teague General Hospital. He was a pipeline contractor of Owens Interests, Inc., a Veteran of World War II, a Shriner, and affiliated with the First United Methodist Church. Mr. Owens is survived by his wife: Margie Owens; two sons: Freddie and Kenneth Owens, all of Teague; one daughter: Carol Hassell, Fairfield; one granddaughter: Wendy Utley, and one grandson, Eric Hassell, both of Fairfield; one brother: Clarence Owens; and two sisters: Fannie Weaver and Florine Kimball, all of Teague. Pallbearers were Jimmy Dunn, Dick Lawrence, Sonny Sheppard, Dick Boyd, Buddy Corley and W.A. Keils. Ricks Funeral Home of Teague was in charge of arrangements.
