Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Willie David Owens The Angelic Hosts came for Mr. Willie David Owens, 75, on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at his Teague, Texas residence among loving family and devoted friends. A Viewing will be held Friday, April 4, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Moore’s Angelic Funeral Home with the Family receiving visitors from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2014 in the First Baptist Church, 209 North 6th Avenue, Teague, Texas 75860. Rev. Carlos Daniels will officiate and Apostle David Ransom will serve as the Eulogist. Interment will follow at Hopewell Cemetery in Fairfield, Texas. Willie David Owens was the 3rd child of Willie Dexter Owens and Ruth Johnson Owens and was born in Stewards Mill, Freestone County Texas on March 14, 1939. He grew up in Fairfield TX and attended the public schools there. Willie was baptized at St. Paul COGIC under the leadership of the late Rev. Vernon Jessie where he served as a deacon. At the time of his death, he served as chairman of the deacon board at House of Prayer Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Imogene Owens. He married Imogene Abram on June 20, 1959. To this union 13 children were born. He was employed as a truck driver for over 50 years. After retiring, he went to work as a bus driver for Teague Independent School District. He was preceded in Death by his parents Willie Dexter Owens and Ruth Johnson Owens, one sister Maxine Owens, and three grandchildren. Those who will cherish his memory include: His wife, Imogene Abram Owens; His sons: Joe and wife Rachel, James and wife Paula, LaMarcus and Terry Crawford and wife Evelyn; His daughters: Charlotte Bonner and husband Freddie, Barbara Brackens, Cynthia Carter and husband Dyrnny, Regina Shepherd and husband Michael, Sharon Coleman and husband Charles, Carmelia Stephens and husband Jeffery, Drusillia Forward and husband Russell, Shelia McWilliams and husband Ivan, Celesta Herod and husband Nemier, Marcia Gibson and husband Charles Jr., NaKesia Thurman and husband Robert, Elizabeth Nickleberry and husband Chris; His Sisters: Alice Owens, Katherine Owens, Debbie Jones, Dorothy Brown, Annie Mae Owens, Lela Mae Johnson; His Brothers: Willie James Owens, Johnny Johnson, Odell Johnson; 46 Grandchildren; 28 Great-grandchildren; Special Friends: Rob McWilliams, Charles Johnson, Donald Parks, and Ike Carden.
