Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Henry Lee Glenn Padgett Funeral services for Henry Lee Glenn Padgett were held on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Bowers Funeral Home Chapel in Teague. Paul Pryor officiated. Interment followed at Cotton Gin Cemetery. Visitation was held on Monday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Padgett was born on August 20, 1952 in Pasadena, Texas and passed away on June 13, 2014. He was baptized at the age of 9 and was 61 at the time of his death. In his intermediate school years he was active in track, baseball and boxing. His family moved from Pasadena to Mexia in 1967 and then to Teague, where he attended Teague High School. He married Tricia Hall on December 6, 1975. They were married for 25 years until her death separated them in 2001. Mr. Padgett worked for Aycock Chevrolet and Leon’s Garage for several years. He loved his profession of auto mechanic and eventually opened his own auto repair shop in Teague. He finally closed his shop and went to work for Northwestern Resources. He was a devoted husband, father and avid fisherman until an on the job injury ended those hobbies. He enjoyed hunting trips to Colorado and Ozona with his buddies and spoke of them often. If he wasn’t working on a vehicle or racing it, he was hunting or fishing. He is survived by two children, Brittney Padgett Milligan and husband, Jeremy of Gun Barrel City and son, Christopher Glenn Padgett of Fairfield; mother, Evelyn Padgett of Mexia; sister, Dawn Wettermark and husband, Ricky of Fairfield; one grandson, Marshall. He also leaves numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends that he made throughout his lifetime. His wife, Tricia Padgett, mother and father-in –law, Virgie Hamp Hall and father, Roland Padgett, preceded Mr. Padgett in death. Serving as pallbearers were Randy Turner, James Sartor, Daniel Gonzalez, Ricky Strader, Junior Mac and David Crundwell. Honorary Pallbearers were Leon Schrader, Carl Alexander, Marcus Steen, Don Jackson and Lin Utsey. Mr. Padgett’s family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude for the excellent care Glenn received from the nurses and staff of Fairfield Nursing and Rehab. The Caring attention he received was such a blessing. He will forever be remembered and missed.
