Parker Set Wednesday at Fairfield Special to the News FAIRFIELD, Texas - Mrs. W. A. Parker, lifelong Freestone county resident and wife of a Fairfield civic and business leader, died Tuesday at her home here. Funeral services will be held at the Fairfield Methodist Church at 3 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Hal McCombs will officiate. Burial will be in the Fairfield Cemetery. Mrs. Parker, who would have been 67 years old Saturday, was the former Letha Pittman. She and her husband were married Oct 30, 1907. She was a lifelong member of the Methodtst Church and was active in Sunday school work and the Women’s Society of Christian Service. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Fairfield History Club. Her husband, now retired, was for many years an automobile dealer here and was president of the Fairfield State Bank. Survivng Mrs. Parker are her husband; three sons, Alton Parker, Edward Parker, and Herbert Parker, all of Fairfield; two daughters, Mrs. Lendon Red of Fairfield and Mrs. John Swank Jr., of Dallas; two brothers, E. E. Pittman of Austin and Roy Pittman of Fairfield; 11 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. [Notes on original: Letha died in her sleep at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday. Letha was buried today.
