Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Fairfield Recorder newspaper April 9, 2009 Fannie Gertrude (Fails) Paslay Graveside services were held last weekend for Fannie Gertrude Paslay, 80, of Kemp who died Wednesday, April 1, in Gun Barrel City. Mrs. Paslay was born in Fairfield on Oct. 4, 1928 to William Young and Laura Mac Fails. She was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church. Mrs. Paslay was also a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, at Fairfield's Lake Chapel Cemetery with Floyd Loven officiating. Mrs. Paslay is survived by her husband, Red Paslay; sons, Eddie Paslay and wife Patty of Quinlan, and Laney Paslay and wife Joanna of Garland; daughter, Robin Strom of Greenville; brothers, Vernon Fails of Fairfield and Toby Fails of Fairfield; sister, Linda Fails of Jacksonville; eight grandchildren; and 13 greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Laura Mae Fails; son-in- law, David Strom; and three brothers. Arrangements were made by Tomlinson Funeral Home of Seven Points.
