Freestone County, Texas Obits The Teague Chronicle - 3 May 1918 edition Death of young lady Miss Gertrude Patton, aged 22 years, died at the home of her mother on Cypress St. at 7:45 Sun. evening. She had been suffering for about eleven weeks from lagrip, pneumonia, and appendicitis. She came home when first taken ill from Groesbeck where she had held a position as trimmer in a millenary store. Funeral services were conducted at the residence by Rev. D. Arthur Dickey at 2:30 Tues. afternoon. The funeral cortege moving for the Cotton Gin cemetery where interment was made at 4:00. Many friends and relatives from Mexia, Marlin and Streetman were here during her illness and attended the funeral. First Lt. Fred Horn of Camp Travis Medical Corp. to which the deceased was engaged to be married was here during her illness and at the funeral. She met Dr. Horn while she was employed at Streetman, his former home.
