Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Paul Ray Pelton The Angelic Hosts came for Paul Ray Pelton on Monday, May 13, 2013 at The Manor Healthcare Residence in Mexia, Texas, among loving family and devoted friends. A viewing was held Friday, May 17, 2013, from 10 AM to 7 PM at Moore’s Angelic Funeral Home at 406 Monroe Street in Teague, Texas. Funeral Services were held Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 3:00 PM in the Union Primitive Baptist Church at 222 CR 901 in Teague, TX. Rev. Ken Bailey, Pastor, officiated and Elder Roderick Miles was the Eulogist. Interment followed at the Grove Island Cemetery in Teague, Texas. Paul Ray Pelton was the second child of Theodis and Alberta Pelton, and was born in Freestone County, Texas on October 22,1943. He went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 13, 2013 in Mexia, Texas among loving family and devoted friends. Paul Ray grew up in Freestone County and attended the public schools there. He was baptized in the Union Primitive Baptist Church by the late Rev. C. C. Collins. His career included employment at Stanford Furniture Co., Mexia and as the co-owner of Paul and Paula’s Country Cooking Restaurant in Teague. Mr. Pelton’s hobbies included raising horses, automotive mechanics and working with small engines. His favorite food was T-Bone Steak, and he will be greatly missed for his funny personality. Preceding Mr. Pelton in death are: His parents and a son: Paul Dlonzo Harvey. Those who will cherish his memory most are: His son: Paul Ray Lynn Carson, Gatesville, Texas; His daughters: Ariana Raynai Pelton, Tehuacana, TX and Ora Polk, Athens, TX and a Daughter-In-Law: Jeannatta Harvey, Tyler, TX; 14 other children that he loved as his own; His Brothers: Rev. Elveno R. Pelton and wife Tina, Baker, Louisiana; Robert Harvey and wife Caretta, Smith, Alabama and Howard L. Harvey, Mexia, Texas; His sister: Alberta, "Linda" Harvey, Tehuacana, TX; His aunt: Mary L. Randle, Teague, TX; Numerous grandchildren; Nieces, Nephews and other relatives and friends.
