Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Fairfield Recorder newspaper January 1, 2009 Mr. Freddie Perryman Graveside services were held last week for Freddie Perryman, 87, of Waco who died Monday, Dec. 22. Mr. Perryman was born in Shelbyville, Tennessee on May, 19, 1921, to George Neely and Hattie Pittman Perryman. He married LaVerne Hickmott on Sept. 10, 1942, in Waco. Mr. Perryman served in the United States Army in the Pacific theater during World War II. He was wounded during service and was awarded a Purple Heart. Following the war, he returned to his wife, LaVerne, and daughter, Jean Marie, who was born during his tenure overseas. Later, the couple would have two more children, Carson and Phyllis. Mr. Perryman and his family moved to Arlington where he was employed as a technical illustrator with Vought Aircraft for over 20 years. He was artistic and spent his time drawing and painting. Mr. Perryman and his wife were members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars for many years and were active in the organization's activities. Following his retirement, the couple moved to Fairfield. Services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 24, at Big Hill Cemetery, near Groesbeck, with Dr. David Hardage officiating. Mr. Perryman is survived by his daughters, Jean Patterson and husband Jack of Fairfield, and Phyllis Rademacher and husband Richard of Waco; grandson, Todd Montgomery; granddaughters, Kara Brackin and husband Darrell, and Megan Niemeier; great-grandson, Ryan Montgomery; greatgranddaughters, Alison and Natalie Niemeier and Kailey and Lindsey Brackin; and three nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, LaVerne Perryman; his parents; two brothers; and son, Carson in 1973. Arrangements were made by Connally/Compton Funeral Directors of Waco.
