Freestone County, Texas Obituaries [Opal Mae (Finley) Petty - year 1983] Services Held Wednesday For Opal May Petty Funeral services were held for Opal May Petty, 78, Wednesday, July 13, at 2:00 p.m. at Lawrence Chapel. Reverend Royce Sanders of the Eighth Avenue Baptist Church officiated. Mrs. Petty was born March 27, 1903 in Dawson, Texas. She was a housewife and affiliated with the Baptist church. Mrs. Petty died July 8, in Snyder, Texas Survivors include four daughters: Mrs. Alton Smith of Snyder, Janey D'Louhy of Crosby, Ona May White of Pecos, Inez Gilbert of Houston; one son, Roy Petty of Westbrook; four sisters: Beatrice Cartwright, Teague, Lucille Walthall, Houston, Mary Belle White of Angleton, Vivian Burns of Ladonia; three brothers: Hershall Finley, Teague, Vernon Finley, Teague, James Finley, Fort Worth; seventeen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren. Interment was in Driver Cemetery. Lawrence Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
