The Teague Chronicle - August 22, 1919 edition NEGRO DROWNED IN TANK Tim Phillips, colored, about thirty years of age was found dead in a spring near the city pump station about 12:00 Tuesday. He left home early Monday morning and upon failure to return in the evening search was made. His mandolin found on the bank of the spring and the Negros body located in the water. Officers were called and the body removed. The Negro, one of several who were in the habit serenading the citizens of Teague, had been demented for some time.
