Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Mexia Daily News - Feb. 17, 2005 edition Erma Dean (Morgan) Phillips Funeral services for Mrs. Erma Dean Phillips, 72, of Teague, will be Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock in First Baptist Church of Mexia, 501 East Carthage Street. Officiating will be the Reverends Carl Edd Morgan of Right Way Church of Dallas and Vernon Busby of Union Primitive Baptist Church of Teague. Burial will be in Rocky Branch Cemetery of Wortham. Moore's Angelic Funeral Home of Teague is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Phillips, a Home Health Care worker and cook at Teague Nursing Home, was a member of Rocky Branch PBC-Wortham. She formerly resided in Wortham, and was born in Freestone County on Sept. 20, 1932. Mrs. Phillips died Thursday, Feb. 10, in Medical City at Dallas. Surviving are five sons, Carl Edd Morgan and wife Janice of Dallas, Rodney Wadley of Dallas, James Herbert Wadley of Teague, John Albert Phillips and wife Doris of Dallas, and Theodore Phillips and wife Linda of Mexia; a brother, James Riley Morgan; five sisters, Maggie McClendon, Tennie N. Ross and husband Royell and Lorene Holley and husband Ezell, all of Dallas, Bernice Bates and Clara Murphy, both of Oakland, California; an aunt, Minnie Allen; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are David Morgan, Steven Morgan, Kevin Morgan, Michael Morgan, Ronnie Morgan, Jr., J'Merson Morgan and Rayford Ross.
