Freestone County, Texas Obituaries [Born Aug. 27, 1918 Died July 23, 2007] Griffin-Roughton Home Mary Mae Scott Phillips, Fairfield Mary Fae Scott Phillips, 88, of Fairfield, passed away Monday, July 23, 2007 at East Texas Medical Center in Fairfield. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel in Fairfield. Burial will follow at Lake Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday. Mary Fae was born August 27, 1918, to Robert Henry Scott and Clara Elizabeth Kelly Scott in Freestone County. She was a member of the Ward Prairie Baptist Church where she led singing for 49 years. She is survived by her daughter, Wanda Phillips of Fairfield; nephews and neices, Donald Ray Scott of Fairfield, Jestine Phillips Calme of Tawakone, Texas, Joyce Phillips Spradling of Farmers Branch, Texas, Joe Phillips of Fairfield, and J.L.
