Dorothy Dee Thompson Phipps

Funeral services were held last Friday for Dorothy Dee Phipps, 82, of Winkler 
who died Wednesday, April 1, at the Navarro Regional Hospital in Corsicana.

Mrs. Phipps was born in Winkler on June 9, 1926 to Sara and Cap Phipps.

She retired from General Motors (AC Delco) and spent the last 40 years creating 
and operating several businesses.

Mrs. Phipps was active in the Community Care Club of St. Elmo and was involved 
in St. Elmo's New Hope Missionary Baptist Church where she assisted with the 
Wednesday evening children's group.

For 50 years she a member of the Corsicana Order of the Eastern Star where she 
served in the position of Rebekah.

Services were held at 2 p.m. last Friday at the Corley Funeral Home in Corsicana 
with Rev. Dan Layne of the Lighthouse Praise Ministries officiating.

Burial followed at St. Elmo Cemetery.

Mrs. Phipps is survived by her sons, Robert Thompson and wife Lili, Randall 
Thompson and wife Tonia; grandson, Ethan Thompson; nephew, William Phipps and 
wife June; nieces, Becky Ann Phipps, Donna Kay Kellems, and Patricia Jan Venus; 
and their families.

She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd Lee Thompson and brother, Nelson 
Ray Phipps, Sr.

Arrangements were provided by Corley Funeral Home of Corsicana.
