  The Recorder learns, just going to press, that Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Pittman, of 
Mexia, former residents of Fairfield, had the misfortune to lose their little 
daughter, Callie, who died of scarlet fever last Wednesday. Callie was a sweet 
girl, about 6 years old and her parent's only daughter. Her death is indeed a 
sad bereavement, and the grief-stricken parents have the deep sympathy of their 
many Freestone friends.
