Charlie Platt, 79, of Wortham died Friday morning at Wortham Hospital.

Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday in the New Hope Baptist Church in the Winkler 
Community. Officiating will be the Rev. Joe Wilbanks, assisted by Gary Mauldin 
and Dan Layne. Burial will be at the St Elmo Cemetery under the direction of
Porter and Holmes Funeral Home.

Born August 10, 1906 in Freestone County, Platt was a member of New Hope Baptist
Church and a retired farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Bertie Platt of Wortham; a daughters and son-in-law,
Mr. And Mrs. Johnny Bounds of Wortham; two sisters, Eva Ferguson of Corsicana 
and Clara Smith of Springtown; two grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Guy Anderson, Preston Bonner Roddy Ferguson, Fill Fitch,
John Massey and Wayne Pillans.
