Joyce Elaine Poindexter

Joyce Elaine Poindexter, 92, of Wortham, Texas passed away June 13, 2007 at 
Wortham Rehabilitation Center. Funeral Services will be Saturday, June 16, 2007
at 10:00 a.m. at Porter Chapel Wortham with the Reverend Don Johnson 
officiating. Burial will follow at Wortham Cemetery. Family visitation will be
Friday evening 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Porter Chapel Wortham.

Joyce was born September 10, 1914 in Richland, Texas to John & Velma Cunningham.
She married Jack Poindexter in 1933 and they moved to Grand Prairie, Texas 
during World War II and lived there for 50 years. Joyce moved to Wortham in 
2000.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John & Velma Cunningham; husband, 
Jack Poindexter; brother, J.W. Cunningham; sisters, Etoyle Hemphill and Jonnye
Lansford.

She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Jacquelyn & Johnny Spencer of 
Wortham; grandsons, Jace Spencer & wife, Deborah of Georgia and Jeff Spencer of
Georgia; great granddaughters, Roxanne Spencer, Suzanne Spencer and Julianne 
Spencer all of Georgia; great grandsons, Jonathan Spencer and Kendall Spencer 
both of Georgia; nieces, Judy Easley of Cuero, Vickie Brandenburg of Palestine, 
Kay Ray of Richland and Marcille Barnhart of Port Lavaca; nephew, Gene Hemphill
of Lufkin.

Pallbearers will be Hugh Poindexter, Charles Spencer, Jace Spencer, Jeff
Spencer, John Deen Rader and Gene Hemphill. Honorary pallbearers are F.B. Covert 
and Tom B. Poindexter.

Porter Chapel Wortham is in charge of arrangements.
