Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Fairfield Recorder newspaper May 21, 2009 Freddie Mae Polk Funeral services were held Saturday for Freddie Mae Polk, 61, of Streetman who died Tuesday, May 12, in the emergency room at East Texas Medical Center of Fairfield. Mrs. Polk was born on July 26, 1947 and raised in Streetman. She graduated from Dogan High School in 1965 and worked as a barber. Mrs. Polk was a Baptist who enjoyed sewing, cooking and listening to music. Services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 16 at Macedonia Baptist Church in Streetman with evangelist Bertha L. Bluitt and minister Brent Polk officiating. Interment followed at Streetman's Cedar Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Polk is survived by her son, Kevin Polk of Streetman; father, Fred Polk of Streetman; brothers, Billy Charles Polk of Streetman and Leonard Dempsey and wife Birtha of Corsicana; sisters, Pearl Reynolds and husband Robert of Corsicana, Patsy Green and husband Lee of Fairfield, Sherrell Polk of Streetman, Barbara Polk and Jim of Lancaster, LaSonya Griffin and husband James of Fairfield; uncles, Charles Lampkin of Fort Worth, Edward Polk and wife Juda of Corsicana; aunts, Zenobia Lewis, Bertha Bluitt and husband Eurn, Ruthie Taylor and Opal McIntosh and husband Dewitt; and special great-nephews, Dante Polk, Randall Polk and Antwuan Polk, Jr. Funeral arrangements were made under the direction of Moore's Angelic Funeral Home in Teague.
