Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Teague Chronicle December 20, 2007 edition EVAN DAVID PORTER Funeral services for Mr. Evan David Porter were held on Saturday, December 8, 2007, at Antioch Asia Primitive Baptist Church in Teague, Texas. Rev. Lonnie Pelton, Pastor, officiated and burial was at Antioch Cemetery in Teague. On August 17, 1936 Mr. Porter was born in Teague, Texas, to Willie and Georgia Jane Busby Porter. He was the fourth of seven children. Evan attended and received his education at Booker T. Washington School. He was a life long member of Antioch Primitive Baptist Church. Mr. Porter worked in the Brick Yard, Lumber Yard, the Southern Pacific Railroad and was a plumber. Mr. Porter passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2007, at his home in Teague. He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents George and Ida Carter Busby, his sister Eva Porter, his brothers David Henry Pore, Sr., Arthur Lee Porter, Lee Henry Porter and an infant. He is survived by his wife Martha Kirven of Teague, his daughter Norma Lee Pelton and husband Joseph of Dallas; his brother Earnest Porter and wife Matilda of El Paso, his sisters Ida Parish and husband James, Emma Green of Dallas, Fennie Washington and husband Dan of Teague, his grandchildren Sharon Pelton, Regina Pelton Sanders, Corey Pelton, his great grandchildren Tiana Anthony, Corty Sanders, Courtney Sanders, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Honorary pallbearers were Adrian Mack, Steven Mack, Earl Moffett, Donald Porter, Gregory Washington and Walter Porter. Emanuel Funeral Home of Teague was in charge of the arrangements.
